Biology Course Description
The Biology curriculum is designed to continue student investigations of the life sciences that began in grades K-8 and provide students the necessary skills to be proficient in biology. Biology is the study of living things.  An understanding of biology therefore, results in a better understanding and appreciation of life.  Biology provides, through regular laboratory and field investigations, a study of the structures and functions of living organisms and their interactions with their environment. The following topics will be addressed in this course:

  • Nature of Life
  • Ecology
  • Cells
  • Genetics
  • Evolution
  • Microorganisms and Fungi
  • Plants
  • Invertebrates
  • Vertebrates

Order of units/topics are subject to change per the discretion of the teacher
